I have had a number of discussions with Fair trading in NSW, it seems that whilst everyone here is happy to have a whinge and wait, no one is willing to step up to the plate.

Fair Trading require anyone that has this problem to report it, so that they can exert some pressure.

If you are serious about getting your car fixed, take the right steps!

If you had read through the posts in the other thread that you've posted this comment in as well you would see that most have had the fix done and are quite satisfied.
May you live in interesting times ...

I did read the other thread, and yes a number of people have had "the fix", but a number of those people still report the problem occuring.

Putting it simply, in my eye's unless the problem is completely rectified, it is still a problem...

It is unacceptable that we pay $$$ and get treated the way we do.

As I mentioned in my post, I have had numerous conversations with a representative from Fair Trading, they are reluctant to take it on with only one formal complaint recorded.

We have 50+ pages on here of people complaining about the problem, and to report it to fair trading is just a matter of filing out a online form, it doesn't even cost you anything to do.

All they will do is to set a due date for honda to come up with an "update" status of this issue. This will still continue fo a while but the diff is that honda will have to report the stAtus to the fair trading. Note that they cant or wont make honda somehow magically fix the problem straight away.

Ps: i've said this bcoz it happens to my workplace before. We have report a problem woth our one of our supplier 2 yrs ago. But till todAy it hasnt been resolved.

    Bye2 Honda... Hello Mazda family

this pinging noise, Honda refers it as "pre-combustion noise", caused by over sensitive knock sensor

Most people who drive their Euros hard will hardly get this problem compared to the ones who drive it softly.

If you go to Honda now, they will replace your knock sensor and intake manifold gaskets. that will solve the problem.
