    Hey all,
I have just noticed recently HR-V 4wd in the market... i know they been out for a few years and dont make them anymore but was wondering why they are so cheap..

Like a 99 sports model has mags, sunroof, air cond, spoiler ect... and i have found it in the papers for $14 - 16,000...

I dont mind the shape and believe that they are quite good value but still in doubt as to why they are sooo cheap (even from the dealers)... The only suggestion I have is that its mainly due to the motor being so small in quite a big car (1.6lt, 1300kg???)...

Does anyone have or been in one that could shed some light on this topic... This would be much appreciated...

I suspect it is cheap because it is no longer made (and only made for a few years), and hence it could be harder to get parts etc for it from honda??

I dont mind the hrv, make a good car for a nice audio setup.

Looks ok, I've seen a very quick one around Ryde way, I'm guessing its had an upgrade.

I've heard they are actually a GM car with honda badges - can anyone confirm/deny?

My Mum has a two-door (the 4 dor looks shyt) - they are a fun beast to drive, if you think that's cheap there are two good HRV's in The Melbourne Trading pOst this week for $9500 - yes that's right $9500 each. I you want to buy one these are the cheapest by far that i have ever seen.

    I will deny that

The HRV is built on the Civic platform like the CRV is. Therefore it cannot be a GM car.

My cousin bought one back in 99. They are a nice car and good value at those prices. The only thing that bugged me was the lack of a drivers foot rest

    It uses a D16

    Specs are 77kw@6200rpm, 138Nm, 0-100 in 11.1secs, weight = 1162kg

Seems like it could have some potential with some more power. I think it would be a great car.
