Why not just slap the 235's on it, assuming you have a wide enough rim to take them.

So far I have been quoted:

    All 225/45 R17

$469 ea for Brigestone Potenza's - the ones that were on it from the factory.
    $269 for the Toyos
    $207 for the Maxxis MAZ4S

I just found this, looks promising....

Maybe a 235/45x17 would work - that works out to be a 4.5mm diameter difference between the two tyres.

OMFG! $469 a tyre!? Is that the RE050 or the 040?
Adrenalins are a better option IMO.

Btw couldnt you go down to 215/45/17?
    Im assuming rim is 17x7?
215/45s are slightly cheaper than 225/45.
    I got quoted 240 a corner for RE001 Adrenalins in 215/45.

Have you considered the Bridgestone Adrenalins RE001?
Even in 225/45 they shudnt be much more than $250 a corner.

IMO from the tyres Ive used (on DC5S),
    RE001>RE050>Pirelli P7000>Bridgestone Turanza ER90.
But I havnt tried the other tyres you've mentioned.

According to my favorite calculator http://wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp it will change your speedo by about 1.5KPH at 100KPH. . No big deal really as long as your rims can handle the extra width and you have 5mm to spare under the guards.

Don't get the same ones that came from the factory.

    Ask for prices on:
    - Bridgestone RE001 or RE050A
    - Yokohama C.Drive or S.Drive

    Which toyos were you quoted?

Not sure which Toyos the guy quoted. The main thing is I need to buy from Bob Jane because they currently have 200 gays interest free and we don't really have the cash at the moment to buy new tyres.

Have you asked for the price of Dunlop SP3000A? Not the grippiest tyre, but cheap and adequate for street. I'd still steer you towards Yokohama C.Drive. They last damn long.

I hope you meant "Days" not "Gays" because 200 Gays interest free scares me!

But seriously at the end of the day there is only one part of your car 'where the rubber meets the road' don't cut corners on that component.

    hahahahahahahhahah...no.. I meant gays - 200 of them

Seriously though...I can get Pirelli P Zero Rosso's in 225/45x17 for $309 each.

I might look into the Michelin PP2's as well.
