Questions for my brother.

Hey there,
My brother has a CRX, 88 model,
he recently done the bottom end bearing, and is looking at options as to what he can do with his CRX

My questions are, What engines fit in and would be an upgrade? Simple conversions nothing to big. he's budget isn't the biggest, (Maybe $5k max)

he is also looking a scissor doors, My brother is in Canberra, so i guess Sydney would be the closest, can any one recommend any one?

b16's or 18c's shudnt be too hard to fit, prob covered a dozen times, try searching

There is a certain EF9 half cut coming to Australia soon, message tseesinngwailo, he can help you out with that (unsure of price at this stage though)

Also D16y1's can fit in ED's (therefore your brothers CRX) as a much cheaper alternative

as for the rice, i have no idea why he wants Scissor doors.... he is not into cannons or any other ricer style things

Thank you, i have forwarded that onto him which he will probably forward onto his mechanic

some other info i am trying to find at the moment(excuse my lack of honda knowladge) What is the name of the engine that came in the CRX? it's a 1.6? the engine is the link above is a 1.6(B16a) also? is this the only engine to fit? if not, what other engi9nes fit and where would you grab one from(what model of honda)?

The CRX should have the engine code stamped on it.

Its not a EF so it will have a D16 of some sought (forgotten engine code, but its a D16XX) or a ZC.

A while back (few weeks ago) there was a concerto for sale with the same engine as yours, I just had a check and its gone (sorry mate)

To be honest there are alot of engines to fit into the CRX, it all comes down to budget and what your brother wants from it.

aussie crx came with a D16A8,i assume its not an import.
if he is paying a pro to do all the work at fairly standard labour rates ,then $5k aint gonna get him far.
tell him to can the scissor doors & do a fair bit more research so he can do some of the work himself.
any motor will fit,he needs to make a decision on exactly which one to pursue.

have a look around here,theres some people who will get another motor into it for some decent prices,if he really cant do any of it himself.

The mechanic is Family(Layed-off mechanic due to disability) so labour wont be very much.
