    EG6 cluster in a EG5

How does this work if I get an EG6 cluster installed in my EG5. The redlines are different. EG5 redlines at 7. While EG6 redlines at 8?

    so?

you think just cause you have a tachometer that shows 15,000 rpm, you can rev that high???

the new cluster will magically increase the rev limit of your car.

the engines ability to rev , is limited by the ECU.

Not the dash. So if you put a EG6 cluster in , your redline will be exactly the same.

i have a eg6 cluster in my eg5. Bennjamin is right, it depends on your ecu and your motor. first of all what motor do you have? i have a b16 and it revs up to about 8 and starts clicking.

I don't think the OP poster is asking whether his car will rev to the higher limit, rather, whether the RPM indicated will be accurate moving from the original cluster to a cluster from another model given that the scales on the tacho are different. He just didn't phrase it properly thats all.

To answer your question, it should be fine and 7K rpm on your old tacho will still read 7K rpm on the EG6 tacho.
