Thanks. Yeah parcel shelf color change, also he said something about when you unlock the car and hold the button in it opens all the windows automatically (say on hot days and you are walking to the car from a distance and want to air the car out), and also when you lock the car and hold the button in it auto closes all windows. I think that was all the changes that are obvious.

Yep the parcel shelf colour and the windows feature seems to be the only differences that I have found.

The Honda Euro website now has a facility to give the "recommended selling price" with on road cost for each state and territory. The ACT it the most expensive with Victoria the cheapest. NT comes in second cheapest but in reality, no real deals are done here.

the extra 2 years of honda warranty is pretty cheap. On my 2010 I got the extra 2 for about $780 and there is no stamp duty payable on that.

    Cheers

There are always small technical adjustments made as the model run progresses. To my mind getting the latest one, particularly in a new shape is good and justifies the extra, but thats just me.

I had been neglecting to use the horn because I was worried that like a current accord I drove it would sound like the usual road runner jap sound with some vibration thrown in...wastn I surprised to hear that it sounded just like...wait for it....a BMW! Very nice touch for a car marketed at the Germans....I like a nice horn..

    Cheers

Please people don't make me laugh with some of those prices people are saying they have got for their Euros. The last few mention are real prices. The people that tend to say I got this and that for xxx price are all lying. How do I know? I work for Honda and I can't even get those prices. You guys must be very high in the Honda ladder to get those prices, because I'll tell you some of these prices people are "quoting" are well below dealer purchase price. If you really got those prices show u your contract, just wipe out your name and address, because in my experience people on the internet really love to lie about what they paid too what they really paid. For the people interested in purchasing a car don't take the advice from some of these so call arm chair experts. Please euronewbie tell me which dealership is doing this price because I would like to have a word with them why they would sell a car at a 4k lost. Mate I call bullsh*t because there is no such thing as business rego. No one get business rego. It is a tax the government gets ( believe me they want their money) and all cars pays GST, stamp duty and rego. The only people who get discount are war vet, pensioner and health care card holder. Businesses that purchase 50 cars still don’t get a DISCOUNT!!!

Also for the other expert that know about the Honda dealer network and how the GFC work you have no idea at all. The cars Honda buys are purchased about a few months in advanced at a set exchange rate so that if the rates go up or down they won’t have to constantly increase or decrease prices. Just because one week the dollar is 100 yen the following it is 80 yen doesn’t mean the prices of the cars change. I don’t hear people complaining when the dollar goes down and prices of the cars are maintained.

Also for the other arm chair expert, metallic or pearl pain doesn’t cost more??? Are you a car painter or panel repairer? If your not you don’t know what you are talking about. Don’t complain about Honda’s paint cost, go to Merc or Bmw dealership and ask how much they what for metallic paint more like 2000k. All cry babies on this site. If you can’t afford a euro then don’t expect to buy one cheap. For god’s sake it just won car of the year. Try and get another car with the built quality and luxury feature for the current prices. If your not happy go buy a madza 6 then.

    Best regard

One pissed off person who actual works in the industry and is a buyer as well. I hope potential buys don’t fall in the trap in believing the lies some people spin on this site because those prices ain’t real.

Dealer cost price is 25% less than list price. Always has been. Always will be. What dealers do for a deal is their business. Any attempt by manufacturers, importers or distributors to maintain a set price is unlawful under the Trade Practices Act.

Now, a dealer's margin is different again and is the amount they have to play with after they have paid overheads (rent, interest, electricity, water, rates, labor party imposed taxes not present in non-labor states, wages, etc).

Then there are the bonuses paid back to the dealers by manufacturers, importers or distributors for sales performance.

What is the true cost of a car to a dealer? Fc*k knows. But one thing is for sure, they're not going to give one away to you.

euronewbie did clarified to me that 42k is not on road cost, so his purchase price is 42k + onroad cost

I just got my MY10 Euro Lux Auto with build date Jul-09, with quite a few accessories, drive away price 51k. Yes, all accessories worth around 6k.

Hey sound likes angry bear is in the forum! Those low prices cannot be brand new with zero Kms... A demo at $4000-5000 cheaper than RRP is possible but not much more from there or else buy at the current Pomo with 5 years warranty.... but u don't get the new windows trick and grey parcel shelf... end of the day a sale is a sale.

One good resource, check out www.carsales.com.au look for demo and new car. there u can see who are the desperate dealers in australia.

Aug /Sep had been quiet, sales guy still have to sell a car to make up the numbers. If they make less from one, they just have to make up on an other customer. bare in mind some cars have better margin then the other. If u try the legend u can even larger discount. And always buy on the 3rd or last week of month as they need the number to get over the finish line. Good luck to new soon to be CU2 Owners, you will not regret owning one
