You should use a black interior Euro to compare, not the ugly one... lol lol
even the black interior is tacky with its bs marble running through it and shit leather seats made by honda. honda cheaped out on the leather everyone knows this.
I have never been 1 to knock Subaru, although they have had their share of problems from time to time. Unless your a boy racer who will notice a few tenths here or there in a 0 - 100 sprint......not me.
The 2 questions I would like to throw up are can an AWD Subaru match a Euro for economy in real world figures (AWD always tends to use more fuel) & secondly, the Jury is still out regarding the longevity of CVT transmisions. Sure they could be the way of the future but they need several years behind them to prove their reliability.

True about the CVT.I'd be waiting a while to see how reliable they are long term. The new Subaru CVTs are chain driven not belt driven so in theory longevity shouldn't be a problem but who knows.

Chain Drive - I hope they have a good filter system to pick up metal particles as the chain & maybe guides wear. Moving metal parts that come into contact with each other within auto gearboxes can be a long term issue, where there is a chain there must also be corresponding gears. So as you say, longevity could be a possible issue that only time will tell.
I was driving home yesterday and saw what looked like a Lexus GS. As I got closer it looked like a Hyundai and when I got close enough to see the badge I realised it was a new Liberty.
New Subaru Liberty: Looks good from far, far from good
