    views needed... D15b4 to DA

Hi guys, were looking at buying this EG from a private seller. he claims that a old integra DA engine has been transplanted with a crx gearbox with LSD. im currently driving a D15b4. was told that the DA is a 1.6 with twin carby. is that true?? and is it a worthy change from D15b4 to this DA??

sorry guys, saw the car this evening... but didnt see the messages... car drives well... was smooth... my friend tested the car and agreed that there is LSD. he had a yellow sticker on it and when i asked, he say it is because of some brushing and cv joints that needs to send the car to the pit. car was smooth. revved it to 7k at second gear hitting about 90km/h. will try to get the pic of the engine for you guys to see... hope i can get it done soon. the dash is JDM with a JDM lower lip as well. conditon of body wasnt that fanstatic... asking for 7.5k. but millage was pretty high at 200k... nevertheless, i have decide to sell my car even if im not getting this DA. however, if its good then i might get it unless i see better deals.

hang on i am confused are you bying an integra with a civic engine or a civic with an integra engine? in the first post you say you are looking at buying an EG and in the last you speak of not getting this DA? as far as i am aware all aussie integras released were fuel injected not carby, doesn't mean it cant be an import engine though. be cautious though.

it is a D16 engine in a EG body. was told the D16A was off a old integra in japan. however im not too sure about the types of the honda engines. thats why im asking you guys for help.

been looking around and found another SI (is SI D16A8??)for sale. did about 170K.... correct me if im wrong k, so SI is definitely better than the ZC engine as it is a twin cam and injector instead of carby right?? and is modification of the SI easy? cos i encountered alot of problem with the D15b4. and is the SI using brake disc for the front n rear?? last Q will be, is there any common problem with the SI?? because im kena keen on getting this SI instead of the phony deal(ZC)

ZC or d16a are both fuel injected, pretty sure on that, however the retro conversion to carby is not uncommon especially in america where they love to put these motors in old civics-it saves the hassle of a lot of rewiring. anyway, I would be pretty confident in saying that you should avoid the EG just doesn't sound right. as for info on the SI i would have to say search in the civic forum.

hey guys, just saw another 94 VTI for sale... went to redbook and try to find out about the engine... apparently the weight is about 4kg more but the power of the engines(VTI n SI) at 96kw. however it says DOHC with VVT. is that VTEC??

So most of you guys who replied regarding the EG with D16 tranplants, the answer is no to that deal?

would like to ask you guys, what is the difference between the D16 engine and the engine is the VTI???? im getting confused with the different types of engine....

hey guys, im very confused with what the guy is saying. just msg him asking whether he can confirm what engine it is and he told me it is from a 94 JDM integra ZX. engine is ZC 1.6l twin carby.

ok, would like to know how much or what is the difference between this ZC and my D15b4 engine. what is the HP of the ZC stock?? i tried to search online and only managed to find ZC which is using cams. having trouble finding anything wth a ZC on carbys... pls pls pls... those who are good at all these engines, please give me a helping hand. http://asia.vtec.net/specs/egcivic/ <- this webby states that the ZC is a vtec engine. but if im not wrong, finding a vtec in Australia is not that easy. and it also states the ZC is running on a SOHC.... *confused*

    cheers!

got to give up the SI cos the car is in a terrible condition. the owner is asking for 5.5k and i just got a quote from my mechanics that it would cost at least 3k+ to do the car upand that would round up to about 8k+ and the price is not even including hifi.... that includes respraying the whole car, used OEM front and rear bumper, new extractors, new rails for passenger seat. And the timing belt will have to be changed soon and also the aircon compressor of that car is already vibrating abnormally... decided to stay away from this SI... still looking for another SI.

thanks for the advice anyway...really appreciate the help!
