The track is so slippery, I don't think it would help putting some semi slicks.
best to put Drag radial tyres.

To be honest, you probably get a better time doing 1/4 on a piece of regular road than on the drag strip.
I doubt it is slipping clutch unless you were holding your foot on the clutch pedal - sounds like tyres were losing traction.
