not to rain on OP's thread, but i failed at this hard,
not sure if it was me or the techxnique or both or whatever. but probably me
i did everything as instructed as best as i could, and it turned black but when i sprayed water on it after ( to test and so on) it simply all came out
i tried 2 times until giving up
if you've done this please post pics !

yeah I was wondering that as well...

the OP suggests using colour remover...but I always thought that the grey is a natural colour?

I just bought a pack of iDye 'Poly' Black (for Polyester & Nylons) for $10. Mixed it with about 700ml of water and sprayed it on. One packet seems to have done the trick...the carpet looks really nice and dark (from grey). Now I'm just waiting to see if the colour will run once it dries. Will keep you guys updated
