    Question Anyone put a f22b in a 3rd Gen Accord?

    I have completed the swap with a few obstacles. Engine runs with no smoke but having problems I think its with IAC sensor (idle control) that is what engine code it throws. Anyone completed the swap had same type of problem? or know how the secondary O2 sensor at back of cat is wired into the ECU. its running unplugged.

    96 accord sohc vtec motor f22b
    93 accord SE rims six spoke
    MUGEN chipped 96 accord ecu
    cold air intake system
    custom exhaust

    90 accord is the 4th gen isnt it? Unless you still have the accord with the pop up lights? Cause the one with the pop up lights is the 3rd gen accord. Post some pic's up man your ride sounds interesting.

    if you are using a chipped ECU, i take it that its OBD1? In that case it doesnt use a secondary O2 sensor

    Smile dollars spent

    ebay engine with shipping incl. $525 (60 k miles)
    ecu w ship $50
    mugen ecu chip for POA $25
    exhaust header pipe w ship $75
    exhaust mid pipe $60
    cat w o2 sensor $40
    custom weld for exhaust and to fix vacuum lines (different design) $200
    clutch $100
    used 94 ex muffler $25
    timing belt, water pump $70
    install timing belt, clutch, water pump, convert engine components and set engine in car $400

    still need f22b1 engine mount (drivers side) $30?

    about $1600 so far (converted all wiring myself)
    would be cheaper if swapping into a ex trim because of exhaust ($250-300)

    So basically for the price a shop would charge to get & replace motor. I got a newer, better motor as far as fuel economy and hp. The motor has only 15 hp more but that 15 hp becomes even more with chip, i/h/e. also be one of only a few 4th gen w/ vtec. A lot of 5th gen owners don't even consider that the 4th gen next to them may have the same or better motor. Plus it is a fun car to drive with no car payments (extra money for mods. and gas) rules

    did the 96 accord have the secondary sensor? if so I could get a 96 accord manual ecu and utilize that second sensor.(even better mpg)

    nah i dont think you'll get better milage, the secondary O2 isnt used to determine fuel, its only used to make sure the cat is working properly for emissions purposes.

    I'd just stick with the OBD1 ecu to be honest, too much stuffing around otherwise for no real benefit. The fuel consumption should be quite low anyway
