Hey Sorry for the late reply - I am soo slack..LOL..

1) going with a taller final drive gives you more torque by mechanical multiplication. The higher the ratio is, the easier it is for the drive axle to turn the wheels = faster acceleration. Your rpm shift points don't really change, but you'll find yourself shifting at a lower speed.

2) With a shorter final drive, you achieve a higher RPM @ a lower speed, the acceleration on the 5.4 would be faster
