no Mikhael... they said they missing a part of the intake manifold that they going to change as well (there's 4 of them, but they only received 3 from the delivery from Jap.) so I have to wait another 8-10 working days to order the last one. They also sed, the ECU reprogram will be done after the knock sensor and the new manifold is installed.
NOTE: in the work description they gave me, it says "parts on order to rectify post combustion noise from engine. Units/Qty: 0.25" LOL!!!

Post Cumbustion Noise - Ping
Hey Guys
I was called by Ken from Honda Australia today this was in response to my
second complaint after having the new computer and nock sensor fitted.
The noise is not as prominent but its still there.
Ken advised there are no further fixe's or corrections in the pipeline from HA.
So i just asked for him to send me an email with some confirmation
of our conversation.
Anyhow im happy in a half hearted way , but will keep monitoring it if the problem worsens, which i believe it won't..
The euro is a solid car, goes like shyte of a stick and has
amazing economy.
So that's the story , im sure dudes out there have lots of worst shyte
to deal with their cars...
All the best guys...

Denot, I would say they are refering to the inlet manifold gaskets of which 4 are requiered.
To my way of thinking the pinging issue has been resolved & is no longer an issue. It is just a matter of those with cars effected with the problem to book their cars in with dealers. To my knowledge the requiered parts are still in short supply.

completion of our post combustion sound upgrade
Gday Guys
Here is the email i recieved today for your information.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Mr XXXXXX
Thank you for your email providing feedback on your Honda Accord Euro's performance after completion of our post combustion sound upgrade.
We have noted your comments regarding the performance of your vehicle and that you are still able to detect some level of post combustion sound under certain driving conditions, albeit much reduced from before the upgrade was applied.
Field testing and customer feedback has confirmed the countermeasure to be most successful. However, as with most automotive vehicles, depending on type of fuel used, operating temperatures and conditions, some minor sound may be intermittently experienced and this would be considered normal operation.
Notwithstanding your comments have been noted and we are happy for the dealer to continue to monitor your vehicle's condition on your behalf.
Thank you once again for your feedback which is greatly appreciated.
Regards
HONDA AUSTRALIA PTY LTD
^^^ Well that is absolute bullsh!t. Mine is also still making a slight noise (albeit reduced) and really isn't causing me too much angst any more. But to say it is "as with most automotive vehicles" and "intermittent" is absolute rubbish. And it is not normal operation. It is very abnormal in my experience. It is definitely not fuel dependent in my car either.
This just smacks of butt covering by HA. I note they call it a post combustion "sound" rather than a "noise" - I had one ridiculous dialogue with my dealer where every time I called it a "noise" he corrected me and said "it's not a noise, it's a sound". FFS!
-
That would be a standardreply Vid. I find it a little unusual that the update is working on the majority of cars, but you say you still have a very slight noise. Could I ask under what condititons you notice it - RPM, engine load, speed, etc. Is it constantly repeatable under certain driving conditions, or intermittant?
As you say, a great car that unfortunately had a small technical problem which isn't all that unusual with the first of a new model run. The CL9 was great car, but the CU2 is a huge leap forward in all areas.
-
Greetings guys, I had my CU2 patched for the pinging problem yesterday. According to the service record I got back, a new knock sensor and 4 inlet manifold were changed, and the ECU was updated. So far it has worked, no more noise is heard, but will keep my eyes on it and keep you posted.
-
Happy 2 report, they finally bloody fix the pinging issue after lots of debacle.
Its not nice and peaceful..After pinging for over 13 mths.
Have my car fixed on Friday and get the car to drive from Sydney -> Windsor -> Singleton -> Newcastle on Saturday, back to Sydney on Sunday. Thank buddah for providing the "trainning" route. The route is really fun to drive, and I guess it train the car well, my wife love the scenary as well. I am happy with the fix so far, smoother, more responsive.
The mechanics said the pinging is fixed, some people might get 90% less pinging and that is fine. He did mentioned about the car re-learn phase for a few tanks, but didn't mentioned about the fuel type regarding to my case. Although he said fuel type will generally help.
Travelled 500+ km since the fix, no pinging so far. Happy.
Will update again after 1000+ km.
