Ive bought a pair of the black housing "jdm" headlights frome ebay almost 2 yrs ago and havent yet installed them, two reasons mainly...
the first is the amber push bike style reflector where the park light goes... I want to modify that bit out somehow n fit a crystal type reflector in there. i was thinking of opening up an indicator n cuting it up to fit.
the 2nd is they need to be pulled apart and resealed cause it looks like they arent sealed properly (i hate it when it rains for a long periods or when i thoroughly wash the car, bloody fogs up inside my oem ones)
So what is the best way to go about this, what tools will i need to use too.
on a side note. what type of globes are our Highbeam globes, I want to replace them with fog lights while im at it.
Cheers Will.
ps thats my Da9 in the integra pic thread, hope you like it.
www.g2ic.com have some write up on how to remove headlight...actually if u read of on most healight stuff u'll find it..
basically u'll need to heat up the current silicon thats on there, undo the metal clips, use a screw driver and slowly peel it open...too quickly and u'll crack the lense..
with the reflector maybe you should just spray it black..i think its a regulation in US but not in aust to have the reflectors.
go to bunnings to buy some silicon and seal it back up again..do not get the clear ones for window..otherwise u'll have a hard time opening them again IF you need to..i forgot which one i used...
if ur light is same as mine.which doesnt have the projectors...they are H7 bulbs
DA9 AUSM STOCK HEADLIGHTS
H4H for Low Beam Light (Main Headlight) (2 clicks)
T10 for Parkers (1 click)
H3 for High beam (pull of stick)
when High Beams are on (this is stock headlight wiring) the Low beam lights turn off
My car with LED T10 Parkers
Luminics Hyper White Low Beams
Luminics Yellow High Beams
(All lights are on as Mate holding high beams not on by click which turns off low beam)
theres been a noise happening wen the car is at idle coming from the hood..but when i push the clutch in it goes away..and when i release the clutch it comes back..its been happening for a while..its starting to get louder..
any ideas of what it could be?..is it anything serious?
its more then likely from what u say the thurst bearing or release bearing, its the bearing that spins on the mainshaft and inbetween the pressure plate and clutch fork, when it wears, it becomes noisy you then put preload on the bearing which gets rid of the noise
