Odyssey Luxury MY07 used price ?

    Hi,

I'm in the market for a used Honda Odyssey Luxury model MY07 and I'm looking at the price ranges compared to red book and it varies substantially.

I've got a dealer asking $39990 for a MY07 model that has only done 20,000km, is that a good price ? The car is nearly 3 years old so based on an average of $3000-$4000 per year loss in value, I would have thought it should be priced maybe $37000 ?

I presume the margin on used cars are much more than new ones ?? right ?

My friend sold (private sell) his MY07 Luxury Odyssey RB1 3 months ago for $32000 and u can think how much dealers are making. By that time, all the used car dealers only paying him max $28k.......the price for a luxury RB1 3 years ago was $47k and 3 yrs later they are asking $40k? I doubt its a good price but don't quote me on it as i'm not an expert.

One thing to note is that Eastern State cars are cheaper and that Redbook data has a bias towards the east as there are simply more people there. I would have expected an 07 to be around the $35k - $36k mark, a friend sold his 05 for $28k. $39 is way to expensive for a 07, but dealers have been known to be more expensive than private sales. Why don't you try private sales? There are quite a few at the moment.

It's more the colours available as the "boss" is bias... I must say there is more choice in the East and the pricing is much better there and if I include freight costs, it can be cheaper than here ! but the hassle of shipping it here, not test driving it...nothing beats a visual inspection and test drive !

    Thanks for your input though...

Haha..! actually no, she says 'Amethyst Black Pearl' makes the car look like a hearse !

Carbon Bronze with black leather interior is the boss's requirements, second choice would be silver but actually, I personally like the grey mauve

I was luckily enough to get approval to get an ODC , so I can compromise with the colour requirements. )

lol your story sounds all too familiar.... Yep, black interior is good. I originally wanted white, but I couldn't live with the brown woodgrain and I wasn't adventurous enough to go with either the purple or the bronze, so I went with Silver in the end, should have listened to the wife and get the purple.........

The interior for carbon bronze is beige? Unless if you're talking about the based model. I paid for my 08 white odyssey luxury for $43000 brand new on january 09. The dealer had to swap their black odyssey with a white odyssey from a dealer in queensland as there's only 1 dealer in victoria that had white and i didn't want to deal with them. I even got a better car as mine was built 2 months newer than the other one. The freight is only around $500 from melbourne to perth.
