Exhaust System between US & AU 8th Civic

    Hi everyone.
Is the US 8th gen Civic using the same exhaust system as the AU 8th gen Civic (R18A, not K20)?
I am looking for a cat-back for my FD. I found one on Ebay
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT
    Can I fit this on a FD1?

Does anyone have the problem on 3rd gear between 4500-5500rpm when you exit the corner?

EX/LX/DX Civic should have same R18A engine, SI model will be different as is 2.0L

The exhaust in link should fit, but best to confirm with seller

I think your exhaust will fit. Find out your pipe dimensions anyway...

    and avoid eBay if possible.

what 3rd gear problem you speak of?

It's a little uphill there. But it's very slow, it waste me at least 1 second from 95KM-105K. It's full gas pedal

That means the ebay one is not the right one for AU FD?

honda stock use like a 1.5" one LOL

normally for a NA car which isnt a 2L+ u would use a 2.25" or 60mm pipe. either way an exhaust isnt gonna give you power all you are buying it for is the exhaust note.

i recommend you look at the layout and undercarriage of the US pipe system and the AU delivered model. if you know what i mean.. there could be different bends in different places.. although it prob isnt gonna be majorly different..

my j's titatnum 60RS is made fo the fd2r and it still fits my AU fd1, but i had to make a short pipe to connect the J's to the cat.

like like people say try to steer clear from ebay specials. =]

ekdez: so the short pipe is all that was needed to fit the FD2R onto the FD1? which is the same as my FD2 i assume? so, all hangers for the exhaust ar in the same position as well?

one difference i know bout US civic is that they have different rear bumper length and some of them ar 2 doors, so the US spec exhaust can either stick out or hidden by out bumper coz too short. hope it helps.
