You'd be suprised about the DC2 Vti-R. Up against a supra, it may not win, but it doesnt let the supra pull a gap (stock for stock).

Up against a prelude vti-R, ive only witnessed one prelude VS integra scenario, the Lude had Intake and Exhaust and the DC2 was stock. It took a fair while for it to pull a small gap on the DC2.

Celica/FTO. Not as pretty as the Hondas. But really, they are all going to be pretty close when it comes down to it. With a good driver, any of them could take our first place.

Maybe you should look at which car extracts the most power from Normal bolt-on mods.

Example: I have been researching Supra modifcation for my friends N/A. With simple bolt on mods, I/H/E, they can take their stock 120ish rwkw to 145-150 rwkw. Probably the biggest gains would come from the Supra?

an fto gpx is a decent car. They're voted one of the best 'imports' you can buy for reliability etc. They come with '150kw' 2litre 6cylinder in around 1180kilos from memory. But most people in the know regard that power output as very optimistic. 6.9seconds would also be very optimistic. They'd beat a prelude but a dc2r would kill one, and they're coming down in cost there days. Plus they would out handle and out brake the fto. There's a lot of good quick cars for 15k! I wouldn't look at the celica personally thou. They have similar power to weight to the type r but on the road they're a league below. The engine is all or nothing. They type r makes up for it's lack of torque with gearing. The celica has the worst chosen gearing of any modern car. It drops off cam at redline up changes! If you look at big capacity 6cylinders you'll be using a lot more fuel and wont have the same fun in the twisties. A clio sport would be a quick fun cheap option but they have serious reliability issues. Another option would be a pug 206 gti 180, again european thou. Lots of fun options around thou. Prelude are a nice car, so are the fto. I've probably taken up enough space now..

    fto under 15k would not be the best option;
you've got r33 and r32 gtsts, 180sx, silvia s13 or s14, supra, gto, crx etc.

    Stock vs stock from experience..

4th gen VTiR vs FTO GPX- VTiR will win until the FTO takes over at about 140kph

VTiR vs Celica ZR- VTiR wins by half a car (mainly because of vtec coming on at 5000rpm and Celica at 6000rpm

    Celica vs FTO- Celica wins.

My friends and i thought we would take this test on aaaages ago and they were the results.

my mate has a FTO and we had a discussion last night and he goes that on the mitsubishi forums that they have the same discussion (VTEC v MIVEC) and they say MIVEC smashes the VTEC untilll the VTEC hits 3rd Gear, then the Mivec has no chance from then on. what do you guys think from there onwards..

i think hes right, even though i was taking the mivec side because of their 0-100 stats, but when you think of it, 3rd gear isnt as short as 2nd or 1st and the vtech kicks in at around 5200, so theres alot of lower gear torque being obtained.

yeah thats alright, my opinion is that depends how you look after the car, some mighyt get a faster car and not work on it, while the slower car driver works on it and keeps up if not beats it

you make no sence at all, alot of confusion.....
if we are talking about 1/4 mile, your saying that a....
    FTO will beat a VTiR
    FTO lose to a Celica
    Celica Lose to VTiR
does not make sence because your talking about friends driving, thats different, you could beat a ferrari in a VW beatle, if the ferrari driver cant drive it well
