					Euro My10 Pinging issue

Does the pinging issue still exists in My10 Euro models?
I am now looking to purchase Euro Auto within few months, wanted to know the pinging issue has been fully resolved from factory.

What else is there to consider in the same price range that even comes close to being the equal of a Euro?

To my knowledge Tony it is. I will also add that the information I received from my Dealer is that the update for the MY09 models is a 3 stage update & if it is not done in the correct sequence the problem will not be fully resolved. This makes me wonder if some of the Technicians carrying out the update are not following correct procedures, a definate possibility.

							Hi, all

The MY10 model, as mine is, still have the pinging problem. The problem is not resolved out from the factory. You have to have the fix done if your MY10 have the pinging problem. I have the fix done, is only 90% fixed.

oh no, oh no, no no no no no. this site made me quite aware of the pinging problem, and also convinced mw to buy a euro. but i understood the pinging problem was well fixed with my10...even the dealer sheepishly said admitted it and said it was al sorted...so last week signed for MY10, 08/09 build...but am i now still to believe i could get a pinger after spending 50K plus??

theres a couple of very smart and knowledgeable guys here, any tips for when picking up a new car and what to double check, and what my rights are if i find say a dent or scratch or something

edit Best car under $50k/$60k (even with the pinging, which is mostly resolved).

From my point of view... I dont really care if its still ping or not, as long as I cant hear it. And as long as its A LOT quiet than my $2k more expensive FD2

I regard the pinging problem as a non issue now, I have done over 8,000km since the update & it is non existent. I do wonder how much of it comes down to individual driving styles (While mine does see the rev limiter occasionally it is mostly driven for economy)

Allow yourself an extra hour to inspect the car prior to signing up for it, go over every panel with a fine tooth comb looking for scratches, blemishes, overspray and colour consistancy, both in the sun & in the shade. If you find 1 problem you are not obliged to sign for the car.
