hey sorry to hi jack but i also jus wanted to know whats the best oil for an EG GL 92 model done 187xxx kms. i was told to use 15-40 but i wanted to use 10-30 feo oem honda oil cause its oem and its cheap hehe.

"azurenights" u can buy after market oil filters for 5-6 bucks from parts shops. i usually jus buy aftermarket cause i change the oil and filter every 5000km

I had a look at the Service Manual for USDM EG Civics and it said the following:

API Service Grade: Use "Energy Conserving II"
SG grade oil 5 W - 30 preferred

I would like to confirm with someone if that meant all EG Civics because it didn't specify which engine should use what oil.

i think the key word in that sentence is "preferred".
