Your years-old standard B18C will probably be pulling around 100kw atw (at most) so there's a pretty big difference in power.
-
get rid of your gay x force twin loop for starters
and get decent exhaust and headers
get some good coilovers, brakes too while your at it
b18c is only 125kw standard not around 150kw like you said
if you spent the same was what the cooper works mini is worth it will be the other way around for sure
-
Not to mention he'll be getting his supercharged power of a much bigger rev-range, whereas your's will be peaking really high...
-
i always thought the manufacturers claim was 141kw.
as far as the car goes, i bought the car as is, i didnt specifically ask for xforce twin loop.
what headers should i be looking at then?
the car has teh itr 5 lug conversion and brakes already
i already know that the mini is worth a lot more, in fact the guy bought it new for about $65k, and its worthabout $35k nowadays.
anyway, moving in the right direction with proper advice

you have the aussie b18c7 type r motor
even still i dont think its the car if you have this motor in ek
as i have driven a cooper works and i would say it is faster

You know you want too...

race him with only you in the car, and only him in the car...
then come back and tell us that you kept up with him. Your comparing a new 50k car with a 10k civic...
dont mean to be rude, but this is reality...
-
i dont really care that he beat me, i know the 2005 cooper s jcw is pretty quick, i just thought that a ek (lighter shell than mini) with a itr motor might be at least as quick as it, but he kept pulling and pulling. i didnt look like i was going to reel him in anytime soon.
no one is being rude, i basically started the thread to ask for some suggestions on what can be done, reasonably to up the power that i already have.
so far we have ascertained that the xforce exhaust is shit, but seeing as i didnt pay for it (car came with it) im not complaining as it should be better than stock.
the motor is healthy, kiet did the work and it came up well.
it has a hiflow cat, and all else is stock.
im not one to race the car a lot, its a daily driven car, but its also a project that i like to add pieces to now and then. whilst keeping it livable and useable.
anyway, cheers for the replies

Mate your civic got owned by torque look for a decent 4-2-1 header + exhaust and short ram or cai if you got the cash an ecu or just a vafc will give your tuner something to work with not much but.
But don't underestimate suspension tuning and grippy tyres plus ek's are heavy put your b18 in an eg chassis= more track fun lol
-
the thing about hondas is the difference in weight. when your addding two extra people your basically saying good bye to your weight difference. especially if u have fat c*nt friends.

well then you just need to throw money at it then mate... and try and make it all as even as possible (i.e. same number of people in each)
Just reminding all you lads that any talk fo street racing will lead to this thread being locked
Cheers

cheers for that, as i said in my original post, i was racing on a track and i had semis on
-
Easy. Put 50k into your 2k POS civic and youll beat him. Id rather drive a hot looking, luxury, supercharged mini than a civic though
