Wink Are there import duties and other charges when buying parts from overseas?

I'm looking to buy new 17" wheels for my 06 Honda Civic.

I've found some from an online store (http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/), and I think they're based in the USA.

Are there any import duties and other charges if I buy them and have them ship to me (Australia/Brisbane)?

Anything else that I should worry about / be aware of?

    Thanks.

I thought there will be 10% GST or more when you buy something over $1000 from overseas.

no,if the actual value is over 1000 aud,and the sender put that actual value on the shipment sheet, you will get into trouble, cuz the custom will call u to pay for the tax before u can get ur item back

Under the ATA Convention, should you under-declare the value, you are liable for penalties which might include seizure or confiscation of the goods

What if I don't declare (mis-declare) the actual value of my goods?
If you don't declare the value of your goods correctly (i.e. that the goods are truthfully valued at AUD$1000 or under) and you are caught you could be charged and penalities include fines and jail.
