How fast can you get your dc2r to 100km/h?
Hi all,
i know the stock figures for the dc2r 0-60mph is 6.2 seconds and 0-100kmh (therefore aus model) is 6.5 seconds (from the brochure). So yeh, please don't just quote Honda.
What i want to know is how fast can you get YOUR integra type r to 100kmh from a stand still?
and if you could also state what mods you've got that would be great.
thanks
PS: if anybody knows someone with a k20'd dc2 who could say how fast he can get to 100kmh that would be fantastic.

You know you want too...
Array
how fast does yours do it? and how did you measure it?
-
my mates one did it in 7 flat with me in the car stop watch timing him. we reckon the car probably had problems lol, but then i heard some magazine say the best they could get was 7.2 seconds (on honda-tech). so yeh.

The only way your going to get anywhere near an accurate 0-100 time is by getting your speed directly from the gearbox (As long as you have the OEM spec rim/tyres).
Timing with your hand is way off:
- The car is probably 10 years old, and like most cars, the speedo has probably never been calibrated since new, so It'll give you a false reading
- Depending who says stop (Driver or passenger) you'll have a false reading
I could keep going on...
If you want a accurate reading of your 0-100 times, get something along the lines of a Apexi RSM (As this plugs directly into the ECU, which takes its speeds directly from the gearbox).
Most of these gadgets (Apexi, Greddy etc) have a 0-100km/h function.
-
Ive herd those gadgets are way off, when recording 0-100 times etc
-
Yeh the speedo was most likely incorrect, however i had the stop watch and was simply watching the speedo, nobody was saying stop/start.
i realise i didn't explain myself properly when i started this thread. Stock figures say 6.2, 6.5 0-100. I have never been in an integra type r that wasn't modified that could do those figures. Allbeit the one i was in had a lot of problems. I would like to know if you can get your itr to 100 in the time that the stock figures say.

interesting. Its always something ive wondered about my dc2r aswell... will prob do some mythbusting on the weekend =p
-
lol please do. and please tell me how it goes.

hmm perhaps you could video shoot the cluster as it accelrates from a standstill? then you'll see how much time it makes in windows media player lol

...it's the same as with Manufacturer's 1/4 Mile claims also - there are so many relative factors.. did Mr Honda do a huge staging burnout and drop his tyre pressures down to 18PSi (etc).. air-temps, track temps, surface integrity, wind direction, altitude..
I think Nickasse is just trying to get some ballpark figures. As long as your tyres remain the same size as from the factory, 99% of all Honda speedo's i've ever seen have been fairly accurate regardless of age - they will all have a slight deviation - normally 3-5kms displayed over what the vehicle is actually doing.
I'm sure that for the purposes of this exercise - a rough time from a hand-held stopwatch will illustrate how quick the ITR's are off the line. stock versus mods etc.

thanks man. that's what i'm after, relatively ballpark. cos 7 flat is not in the relative ballpark of 6.2 or 6.5 lol.
and the thing with videoing the cluster....lol it kinda makes no difference to stopwatch.
