    if you used blue electrical tape, it should be rated to V90 standards. this means that it can handle up to 90degrees Celsius for a short amount of time before it starts to break down.
    so really you shouldnt have a problem about melting tape where you have used it around the cables in your engine bay, unless you have used it around the exhaust area.

    You do realise V90 is actually the rating for 75degrees?
