    LED/switch DIY on euro

    hi .. all euro owner.
    did u notice tat even the glove box is close, the light inside the glove box is still on??
    so i did put a switch to it... so the light is ON only when you open the glove box... and i change the blub to 2 white LED...
    i am goin put LED lights in the middle box and the coin box later as well

    P.S. remeber you need resistor for the led...
    use the formula below to determine the correct resistor

    Resistance in ohms = (Supply voltage - 1.7) x 1000 / LED current in milliamps

    so to operate the LED at 20mA, for 12V, use 560ohms
    (12 - 1.7) x 1000 / 20 = 515 -> use 560ohms

    here is the switch...

    some pic on the LED

    P.S. the light is much brighter than the pic below

    some other switchs with indicator lights.

    are you sure the glove box light is on permanently? surely this cant be the case as the bulbs wouldnt last very long if there were on all the time.

    Wicked... Nice writeup...

    Yeah take a look at night time.. The glovebox lights are still on.. My glovebox doesn't close real tight so i can see the light exposing through the crack at night time..

    Geee, the OEM bulb for grove box must be a long life bulb. Mine is still working allright after 16 months..
    but when u think about it. the bulb should be similar to the parking light bulbs. If it can last that long, so should the grove box light bulb.
