    Jaycar Splits in EG

    Hi guys

My friend just put some 6inch Jaycar splits in my EG. His mounted the crossovers inside my door. Now I know that this can be a problem with water & corrosion. Is there anyway we can water tight the crossovers in the door without relocating?

The window is also hitting the magnet, I wasn't aware that the magnet would be a problem cause I thought the EG can mount some deep speakers. Obviously I'll need some spacers, does anyone have recommendations on where to get some 6inch spacers for a good price? Thanks in advance.

I can get you spacers but you would need to be in Sydney or I would have to post.

If your not in Syd whats your postcode and suburb?

As for waterproofing it would depend on the design of the crossover box, I'm not familiar with those splits but I'm sure someone else will know.

Yeah the ones I've got are the same price but they are MDF not plastic.

Your aware that those are 6" and not 6.5" spacers? Are those the right size?

Sorry I forgot to mention that I installed 6" splits thinking that I wouldn't need spacers. If i knew i needed spacers anyway I would have went 6.5" for more midbass...

You got any 6" spacers in stock?

Here I just listed them for you: http://www.shoppingsecure.com.au/ind...&productId=225

Whats your postcode and suburb? I'll make a couple calls and find the cheapest way to send it. I think it will probably be Australia post tbh.

as for ur xovers, u can put them in a plastic bag and rubber tight it and it should be fine
this is what we do at work to prevent corrosion and things

you got to be kidding me right? who told you that? only hacks, diyers, chop shops and stratties put crossovers in plastic bags and drop them in the bottom of doors. plastic bags wont stop the crossovers from getting damaged, a proper install will save them.
