Rim sizes, numbers etc
Hi guys, I'm looking at getting some 16" rims for my stock 98 dc2. Can someone explain the difference between these two for me. And other than getting tyres for them, is it a straight fit on? I've tried doing some searching about rims etc but was getting myself confused and lost.
GT3 16x7.0 40 5X114.3 73 Royal White
GT3 16x7.0 40 4X100 67.1 Royal White

the 5x114.3 and 4x100 is the number of studs x the spacing between the diagonal studs
i think your 98 dc2 is 4x100

My uncle has a friend up there who runs a tyre joint somewhere near ontario, and was telling me he can get me tyres from there. They would be just as good from there as it would be here right? so if i tell my uncle i need 4 (205/45/16) tyres. should be fine?
whats some good brands to get? i dont want expensive ones as i dont do track work, just something good for the street.

I have 16x7 4x100 +44 Work CR Kai with 205/45 tyres.
I have approx 4mm between tyre to suspension struts and less space between outside of tyre and guard. I don't scrape during full suspension travel or during turning at all, and my guards are not rolled either.
I think +40 might be just ok, very close though.

With my setup I've driven the open road fully loaded boot and back seat and two passengers over those big sweeping drops and rises at high speed (100-110km/h) getting full suspension travel with no scraping or nasty bumps, so very happy about that.
I'm interested to hear how you go, keep us posted

Sounds great! what springs are good to run? im not 100% on whats good as i dont have a large background with honda. but i do know that kings springs are good. Just hoping this xmas turns out for the best dollar wise, so i can have the car lowered and running gt3's as soon as i can

Kings springs are the ones "not" to use, they are cheap and they sag.
I have Spoon progressives with Type R shocks, very good combo IMO

OHHHH, well i come from a commodore background and they are the ones to use lmao!
how much did your setup cost? i have no idea how much a suspension setup would cost! any help would be very welcomed!

Spoon progressives approx $500
Type R (ITR) shocks (2nd hand) $150-250ish, or get Koni Yellows or Bilsteins
To fit ITR shocks you need to fit ITR rear lower control arms $250ish
I also have 24mm ITR front sway bar, 23mm JDM ITR 98 spec rear sway bar (which requires a rear subframe reinforcement such as Beaks os ASR)
I purchased springs from JDM Concept, and the rest from JDM Yard.
