Gearing and weight are the key to a B16a running good numbers at the drags or circuit,I went for a run in the old BYP B16a bottomend powered EG the other day its now got a better flowing head on it fitted with Spoon cams and a B16a gearbox still very impressive when the engine is worked hard but a 4.9 or 5.1 final drive it really needs to get the best out of it.It made 110kw on Insight Motorsports dyno

Gearing is very important for ANY car at the drags. But for some reason, not many Honda people look at this side of their package.

..and at the circuit as well - especially circuit. Gearing helps keep the car in the appropriate powerband. But yes, it is not a normally looked at side of modifications cause it most are too pre-occupied with getting more power.

Sssshhh, now the secrets out haha
Gearing/drivetrain was my first mod lol.

As I said my previous post, if you understand the strengths and weaknesses of the B16a then you can improve on it with surprising results.
