    Thanks for all the input guys,
    bad news though,
    the car cranked and started after 2 hours and was driven home from the city and now the car is knocking
    took it to the mech and drained oil and changed sparkies but i guess its too late

    Bent conrod most likely. You should of towed it rather then drive it. You've cause some serious damage. Water doesn't combust therefore something had to let go.

    If you had follow the above advice then your chances of saving the engine would of been higher, i.e remove spark plug, let it dry, spray some wd-40 down the bores and crank it over.

    yup, thats what i told him
    o wel damage is done
    motor has only done 30K
    its a pity actually
    insurance it is now
