    why doesn't the oil light go on if its running low on oil ?? sensor problem ??

    oil light only comes on when no oil left !!! too late !

    Yes, the oil light turns on when the oil pressure is low. By then, it would have been too late. Checking your oil level regularly is the safe way to be sure.

    Its not too late lmao dont stress buddy, its just a precaution letting you know that your low just like all the other signals (door open, boot, hehe) but with that in mind, if your engine light comes on then start getting a tad worried

    No, the oil light is an oil pressure light. When it comes on, damage has already been done.

    The engine light on the other hand covers both emissions problems and engine sensor problem. At least when the engine light is on, a part is usually dead and needs to be replaced. If the oil light is on, be prepared to do some engine work to fix it up.

    arronng, would that be why there would be a "grinding" noise coming out from the engine though ??

    bcoz i've notice that the engine has started making the noise when the oil light was on ?

    how would they correlate ?

    Lack of oil means low oil pressure (basically no oil being pumped to the moving parts of the engine). The oil's purpose is to lubricate the engine. That grinding sound you heard was the metal rubbing against metal which causes wear and damage.
