Sorry ben i dont agree here, the D's are more popular than what people think - theres no section because it would cop a flogging from anyone whos ever done an engine swap, which seems to be the honda culture in australia.

But that doesn't mean it wouldnt get used or read.

Why send people away from our forum? Don't we want them here?

It would be greatly beneficial to have separate sections for every engine series.

It would also be handy because d-series.org is US based and no one wants to sit there converting HP to Kw all day, and trying to decipher between d16y1's and d16z6's etc etc

It's just another area that OzHonda could dominate, but instead we're choosing to send people away to some other forum because no one wants the knowledge in ours? Seems irrational to not consider it imo.

As I have stated twice , update this thread as the official NA d series thread.

Even though i do agree with some points you have made beeza, i dont think its realistic to make a section just for "D-series"... it wont solve the problems and then opens a can of worms about dedicating sections to all the other motor series. Then ozhonda will be made up of heaps of sections with little content and the same amount of regular users.

I Do however think a "SOHC" section and a "DOHC" could be a good move

i think the creation of seperate sections will enforce the D vs B vs K vs ??? mentality.

If we're all in the one pool then we have to learn to swim together. Know what i mean?

They'll get over there D bashing soon enough beez. And if they don't then who cares, its just the internet.

Wow don't know how I missed this thread!

As some have already said it isn't practical to make a "d-series" only section. If we do then we'd also require a 'b-series' only, 'k-series" only section etc.

As a consequence cross posting might occur.

If there are member promoting bad fellowship like Andy said, then report the post (with a valid reason). The last thing we want on here are 'e-warriors'.

    Thanks Guys.

Heaps of people own d-series engines. Most of them are afraid to say that, why is that?

Because U come on here and it's b18 this K20 that,it's all about letters and numbers and who's got the best ones with power figures to match.

There is a whole lot more to cars than power but most if not all will fall into the trap of I need a b swap but I got no money before they learn that the engine they have is a bloody great engine and U dont even need more power!! And that just sucks. We are not looking out for our members at all by not offering them an alternative to the trap that everybody falls into, come on,lets be honest here!

A d-series section will offer an alternative.

Lets be responsible and look after those new members who sign up,have not got three to five thousand dollars spare to spend on something they dont need ! FEEL ME!

My d was sluggish and slow when I got it,now with I/H/E,MSD,maintence,calibrating the tps,my car goes GREAT and I definately do not need more power, that would be only to satisfy the ego, because my car is fast enough!

So it was through sheer will and determination that got my d up and running great guns! After figuring out the tps has a voltage and this voltage goes out of whack over time. Then figuring out how to set it and doing it,wll,as I have said before my car goes awesome for it.

I am sick to death of saying 'I Love my d' OR 'My engine goes Great' because others try to put it down,ya know?

I DO Love my d and I know others, given the chance, will love thiers too.And if they dont,at least they had the opportunity to learn that and not fall into that ALL TOO COMMON trap.

We can do the d-series thread thing, like we have been doing, and see what happens then aye

GIVE THE d A GO U BIG DICKS!!!!!!!!!!

    Cheers.

Cheers Will,it wasn't until I vented that built up frustration 2 days ago that I then saw the real pitchure. It's sad really. The trap is a sad one. It's sad because day after day, night after night, days, weeks, years many stay frustarted because 'they cant afford a b swap',cruel really. And because most of those people would be absolutely satisfied with thier d + a couple of mods.

The introduction of a d-series section would make Ozhonda a more popular site, who knows we just may compete with Nissansilvia.com with this new section

U go to d-series.org and the Love for the d is there, like one big d-series family, awesome.

I hardly want to go to the d-series thread now.4 years of hearing the same old BS grows just a little bit boring.Just a tad..

I'm sure they don't spend day after day, night after night. Thats a bit OTT.

They probably don't even care what other people think. It sounds like you're trying to say that people get peer pressured into doing a B swap rather then appreciating what they've got.

It weighs on ya mind man.Have U owned a d-series for years? (before the b)
Those who have know EXACTLY what I'm talkin' bout.U start thinking your engine is sh!t and U 'wished U had a b'

Well, that's what the site will soon teach U.

The pressure comes from EVERYWHERE - It's the 'Fast and Furious' world we live in!

So without having that option available, the option of seeing others STOKED on thier d,they fall victim to the 'the d is sh!t,get a b BS'

The fact is,d's aren't sh!t and other's NEED to have the option to realise that.

    atm they don't.

Mate you are taking it way too extreme. Most people are happy to mod their d with exhaust and air filter for sound, and if they want more the most logical, cost efficient and reliable way would be to upgrade. Also we are talking about minority of the minority who want to build a d, so no point establishing the section and it won't be popular.

It's fine that you wanna learn and enjoy the process of decking out a d, but there are more efficient ways of achieving greater end results, and this is more appealing to most people...
