    Lowering Questions

I plan to lower my honda prelude 3rd generation around 1.5 to 2 inches, what kind of springs are recommended? and will i need new shocks to replace the stock ones?

    Thanks.

yea you will need new shocks, otherwise you will blow your stock shocks very quickly.

king springs, pedder springs and lovell springs come to mind for 2' drops. if u get after market shocks, get something like koni yellows and combine them with eibach springs or nuespeed springs to get a 2" ride height aswell ( u can adjust the height of the shocks by 2 levels, if u are going lower)

yea coilovers are much better tho, stiffer ride, better handling.

but shock+spring combo would do the same job. brand new, you're probably looking at 1k+

    go on www.preludeaustralia.com

a few members are selling the spring+shock combo for about 700

Although a lot of people run aftermarket springs on stock shocks, it's not recommended as you'll wear out the shock even quicker. It may seem cheap to lower your car with aftermarket springs now, but when your shocks blow you'll be spending hundreds more, close to the price of some coilovers.

IMO, if you can wait, be patient and go for coilovers.
