    Quick-Release Steering Wheel... good idea?

i was surfing through the net and saw quick release steering wheels and hubs...

and i was wanting to know if they are good.

not just for i suppose security purpose but are they safe?

i just thought what if the steering wheel pops off while turning...

and can the quick release hub work with other aftermarket steering wheels?

i got a momo race steering wheel...

If you get one make sure you get a quality boss. Ask Yonas for some advice. QRBs are used on race cars and I have one ready to go on my car so they don't "fall off" when you're driving. They have release buttons behind where the wheel attaches.

Its not really useful unless you are going to take off your wheel every where u go other then that its just a display thing.

Imho, I think the function of a qrb can extend beyond the race-related spectrum i.e. would be a great deterrent to potential car or bling* steering wheel theft which is easily the single most popular form of vehicle crime back in my country. Hope I'm not hijacking your thread AsH but can you couple an aftermarket qrb with a stock steering wheel?

Sorry didn't want to bump one of the oldest threads in history but didn't want to make another.

Anyways is it illegal to have a quick release? Dangerous at all to have one?
