    thnak u for your reply

but what about the ecu how can i fit that....becuase it is a 98 coupe it's comes with a chip in the key..so i dunno if the vtir ecu will affect that?....and also becuase it is a vtec i should be able to hook the wiring up so the car runs (not 100% but runs)...am i correct?

i'm not too sure about the older engine laws either..
a few months ago i went to a reputable wrecker and they told me that it isn't illegal as long as the emissions are checked etc.

    The EG is OBD-1
    The EK is OBD-2

no you need to use the EG6 b16a OBDI computer. the wiring will have to be customised to fit the EK dash loom(can buy adaptors) and wiring in the engine bay will have to be moved around to fit the b16a engine.

your going to need a Auto sparky to do that.

AFAIK , it is impossible to register a car with an older engine (block) than the chassis itself....ive heard this from a ew police officers , and one guy at the RTA but i do not have any "legal documentation" - Ill take their word for it lol.
But , it does make sense - to comply with ADR's etc...

    *Back on topic*

Yes - get the entire set of EK vtir engine mounts and this engine type should be a bolt in

what about if i run an Ek b16a ecu....

the b16a wiring loom fits on the then engine from the fuse box to engine , and the Ek Vtir ecu should run the b16a, just at aus standards?

EG b16a uses a different ECU altogether than the EK b16a..
not to mention that the japspec engine has more "power" than the auspec..
    i.e.
    EG b16a (125kw) uses a p30 ECU
    EK b16a (118kw) uses a p28??? ECU
