    D16Y4 tb & im

Well, now i fully understand why i cannot use a b16/bigger tb on my y4. for traditional OBD2s, the IACV is on the rear of the manifold. However on the y4, the IACV is located on the tb at the bottom. so in order for a bigger tb, a new intake manifold must be used from a D16Y8 where the IACV is located at the rear.

What i would like to know is, can i use the y4s IACV on the Y8 manifold? or do i need the Y8 IACV aswell? i know the y4s IACV is 3-wire & y8s is 2-wire.

If U can it's a nightmare and costs too much money.

Best to just get the y4 TB bored out to 60mm form the stock 56mm for $195.Then port match the IM.

you cant make a 2 wire iacv work on a 3 wire ecu.
3 wire iacv works completely different to 2 wire unfortunately.

BTW automatic D16y8's have the iacv on the throttle body aswell not on the back of the manifold.

No, well you cant run the b16 throttle body anyway. Maybe the skunk2 IM & somehow block the bit off at the back of the manifold where the IACV should sit....

    Yeah.

A bored out OEM TB = 60mm + Skunk2 IM with block off plate. The inlet size is 62mm,so a 60mm TB will be fine.

The block off plate is as easy as 2 bolts if I remember correctly.I did this already but couldn't make the b16 TB work, now I understand why but!!

I can't see why that won't work aye. That will work right? because it was the IACV that's on the TB of the y4 that is the issue. So if ya keep the stock one, bore it out and block the IACV off on the back of the IM,U should be good!

btw Yonas can get ya TB bored out for $195.
