Yeah if connecting an amp to a sub then i would recommend running 14 gauge wire to the amp, If just amp to splits then if under 60wrms then 19 will be ok, if over this then id look at getting some better quality streetwire style cables at around 16 gauge.

Just dont go over this too much as too thick a wire will cause resistance just as much as too thin wire can.

Wait till you have to cable up 3 amps, 2 sets of front speakers, 1 set of rear speakers and then 2x subs also.

Lets just say the cable in my car is almost as expensive as my head unit

But its worth doing it right first time instead of doing it bits here and there.

    Quick Question

I'm looking at buying a mono block amp. There are 2 amps i'm looking at.

The power output is as follows:

    Fusion EN-AM60010
Max Power Rating (Watts) - 600
    Ratings per Channel - 170 Watts RMS x1 Channel @ 4 ohms: 250 Watts @ 2 ohms

    Clarion APX1301
420 W of Maximum Music Power
    400 W × 1 into 2 Ohms, 20 Hz ~ 20 kHz @ <0.1 % THD
    300 W × 1 into 4 Ohms, 20 Hz ~ 20 kHz @ <0.1 % THD

Do you think these are enough to run 1 x 12" JBL Sub.. ? Or should I be looking for something with more power?

    Which one would you recommend?

The Nakamichi amp should not be run at 1 ohm. Some of them fail so I wouldn't run it below 2 ohm. If your looking for SQ and you have that much power to play with I would up the budget. Its a nice amp and its just dying to drive a really nice sub LOL!

    DONT BUY THE CLARION APX1301!!!!
My bro bought the same amp in 3months it shit it pants and alll it was running a 12inch vibe black air. the sub is abt 4 yrs old. If you want a clarion amp try and find the apx1300 this is what i am running and hit it for abt 3-4yrs and not one issue. the design and the quality of the above is shocking!!!!. the apx1300 is a max of 400wrms at 2 ohms and 300wrms @4 ohm

So like i said if you want a clarion amp look at the apx1300
