Prices for Honda Integra

Hey everyone,

Im thinking of purchasing a Honda Integra as my first car, but I'm having a little bit of trouble trying to figure out a reasonable price for the models I want. So I figured it would be good if you could all help me out.

Can you please give me an indications of the prices im expecting to pay a private seller for the following models/year/km (assuming that all of these cars are in a sound condition)

2002~2003 Honda Integra 70,000~90,000 km, no modifications

2002~2003 Honda Integra Luxury 70000~90000km, no modifications

2002~2003 Honda Integra Type R 70,000~90,000km no modifications

Also does the colour of the car affect the prices of the Integra dramatically? (ie is black much more expensive than silver?)

the normal dc5 and the luxury models is the same thing isnt it, the base model? someone correct me if i'm wrong probably can pick this up for 15-17k
type r your looking at probably 19-23ish for a decent one

as per colour the price may have an impact but probably more of the availability of the colour of the buyer & seller ( ie CW is more rare then silver so people willing to pay/sell at more etc etc )

No there is a dc5 base model then there is the luxury which is the facelift model if im not mistaken with different rims to the dc5 base model and dc5r and leather interior obviously

dc5 luxury would be same price as a dc5r with higher kms..

OP - what is your budget? you looking at performance or just a get around car?

Bang for buck would be to try and find a reasonable km dc5r for like 20k.

yup! theres DC5 (base/std) then DC5 Lux and DC5R.

pretty much depends on what you want to get out of the car. the DC5 base and Lux is pretty much the same just difference in extras. i think the face-lift applies to 04 models and above.

I have a budget of $19k however of course I would like to get the car cheap as possible

I do have an eye for luxury/type r, but I was quite unsure whether I could buy a clean car with the budget I have (especially after an inspection of a "clean" luxury few days ago turned out to be a previously written off vehicle)

Also when you are trying to barter someone with the price of the car (ie the price they ask is 20k ono)
what is a reasonable price that I can expect to lower the price to? :S

oh and im still a uni student, so performance = preferred
but then I really wouldnt mind the sunroof + leatherseat features of a luxury either

its the newer version, basically u had in 02-04.. u had either a base dc5 or a type r; dc5r.

in late04 to 06, u had a base dc5 called a dc5 luxury (has the same engine i believe, but leather seats, sunroof), or a Type s, DC5S, has a much more powerful motor, shorter ratio gearbox, and better front and rear sway bars.

Now the differences between the S and R, are basically, R has recaro's, and sussy.

S has sunroof, leather seats, better/double din cd palyer with 6 cd stacker, better looking/bigger wheels.. Also the S has 7 Kw more power than the R, but because the it also has the sunroof, the extrra added weight is there, so im unsure stock for stock, in a stirahgtline, which car will win.. but im deadset around corners, the R will outhandle the S.

So basically the dc5 luxury replaced the dc5 base, and the Type S replaced the Type R.

Once you've found a price on there for a particular car you want, double check the price on carsales with cars of similar age, k's and model.

for me personally, i dont use redbook, i like to go on carsales, and see the average prices there, it indicated the true market price.

Totally agree with you. I would never use redbook as gospel, but rather use it as a guide so you aren't going into the situation blind.

If I was looking into a car, I'd go on redbook and find what the "Average" (K's, stock, condition) of a particular car is.

I'd then go onto carsales and you find a couple of "Average" similar model cars to gauge what the average price is. At least you'll know which ones are too good to be true (AKA be cautious), which ones are about on the money, and which ones are dreamers.

I did this recently when looking at an Evo 9, and found that a decent condition low k's stock/mild mods Evo 9 was going for around 40k (Privately).

The ITR is made between 02-04, now after 04 they replaced the R with an S, less performance but more luxury which is suitable for street use.
The difference between the R and the S is the 6 Stacker CD, revised suspension setup, R has LSD and S doesnt. Recaro / leather- "style" recaros, Sunroof, S also has higher lift cams than the R hence the 7kW difference. The S also has a shorter intake manifold than the AUDM ITR which also contributes to the extra power. I believe the S and the R should be about the same price? Correct me if im wrong.... however, the later model does help in sustaining the price of your car.

And since ur a uni student, id recommend the R / S, i just dont think the base model gives enough fun to satisfy your thirst for performance. I personally prefer the S because the ivtec crossover sounds like the B-series crossover and i think its louder than the R.
