ok. im going to make this thread especially for the s2000.

going to name the 6 wheels that are most common with s2000 drivers

if any1 has had them or has heard about them can they give a review and rank em from 1-6 i guess 1 being the best

now.. MY ORDER
1) Bridgstone Adrenalin RE11
2) Dunlop star spec Z1
3) Khumo KU36B (Grip ++++)
4) Bridgstone Adrenalin RE050 (not to sure bout this Tyre)
5) Bridgstone Adrenalin RE001
6) Khumo KU31 (cheap tyres that will do the job )

and is it bad to have 225/55/16 on all four corners? and why

and what is the perfect rim for the OEM rim

you mean perfect tire for the oem rim?

KU36 bang for bucks. They wear "fast" but at $150ish per corner grip vs performance can't really be beaten.

it should be 50 profile for the rear tires.

the standard S-02's tread was apparently equivalent to 225 on the front and 245 on the rears...but they were superceded by the RE-001s by bridgestone.

I don't think it matters if you run 225 all round, you might have a bit more front grip overall but the car should be fairly balanced, if your scared of fuining the blance run 205/55 on the front and 225/50.

i'm in the market for new rears too - do they make the ku36's in the right size for the ap1 16" rims?

it's either that or the RE001's for me.

I might get new tyres soon, im going to get the following RE001's as their's not many options in our 16 inch rim size, its seems 17 and 18 inch rim sizes are a new standard size.
front 215/50 & rear 225/45 if I end up going to pikes peak i mean peats ridge

225/50

Running non staggered tyres isnt a bad thing, you'll get a more understeering car or neutral feel, wheel camber and wheel setup toe caster will effect the balance as well, this is more experimental if you know whats going on.

I ran Falkens 452's on my 18's at the track and they felt really good, their not cheap I've heard mixed reviews but in their price range there's prob a better tyre you can buy. they were around 280 a tyre, I ran fronts 215/40/18 rears 245/35/18 I should of ran 225 or even 235 on the fronts rears 245 or 255 would be good.

My ideal setup if I do get rims would be 17x9.5 +38 all round with 255/40 or 245/45 front and 255/40 rears but this is a big IF!

i got re001 on rear (yokies DB on front) atm and i hate them so, my nex choices are between Michelin Pilot Sport 3, Toyo Proxes R1R, or Yokies S drives (all4s) ... just gonna get standard sizes which i believe are F : 205/55/16 R : 225/50/16

atm leanin more towards R1R and Pilot Sport 3 ..

hmmmm isn't there some funky shit going on with the S-02 compared to everything else?

eg: Our S-02 @ 205/55 isn't actually the same as other 205/55's on the market, but rather is equal to about a 215 or something?

And there isn't a "common" "tyre" with the s2000 it's the same with every car really, all comes down to personal preference.

Nothing bad about running 225's all round, it's called a non staggered setup makes your car behave diffrently thats all. I ran 225/50's semi's all round on track and I loved it!

hey guys, sorry, I thought having a non-staggered setup increased oversteering tendencies, not understeering? more grip at front relative to rear = rears breaking lose more readily? have I missed something?
