The original motherboard and connector are removed from the ECU case, and the Autronic motherboard and connector, clips or screws into the case. The original harness plugs in and the job is done, no wiring and all original sensors are used. External view of ECU case and connector is unchanged from its stock appearance.

Considerable gains in power across the complete RPM range can be achieved with these boards. Both road car and Group N rally car versions available.

Allows full control over fuel, ignition timing, boost pressure and all other engine functions. All boards have Anti-lag and Autotune.

All boards are supplied with base programs are available. Some final tuning will be required. "
I've been thinking of putting this AUTRONIC ecu. Anyone has any experience or stories? Basically I'm after any pluggin aftermarket ecu for my ek4. If I buy this I should be able to just pluggin the thing without cutting off my harness right? I've been quoted about $3500 incl tuning (abt 30 hp net gain) to install this? Does that sound right? Can any shed any light?

the gain depends on what mods you have and who tunes it

$3500 seems kind of high for a plug in board. are you sure that is not for the higher end ECU's? eg. SMC or SM2

    $3500 is rough estimate...

basically drive in drive out...supply, install and tune...

I have e-mailed my autronic supplier as the $3500 for a drive in drive out deal seems abit on the rich side as the SMC sells for $1995 I think. The Autronic is one of the BEST on the market I have used and tuned them for many years on both road and racecars and there new windows tuning software is alot faster to tune and it is money well spent.
