well it's been retold that the vtec hold more than the S15 in 1st and 2nd gear just edging forward but then the turbo lag kicks in and jumps forward at every gear change.
you guys seem to be looking at the figures too much! i know it does contribute but think, with S15 being FR and the lude being FF launching from stop and gear ratios of each matter alot.
on paper the S15 is undoubtably faster but on the road the lude isn't that far behind.
How close is the integra type r vs the prelude?
The ITR is about half a second behind the 200sx which would equate to about 1 to 1.5 carlengths on a quarter mile.. i have never gone against a 200sx from a standstill however from rolling was about equal (neither car pulled)...
If the ITR cant beat the 200sx, the lude will have no hope..
The s15 200sx has no turbo lag, just heaps of torque down low, with the h22 or any other vtec engine, you need revs before it hits its powerband (vtec lobe) by that time the superior torque of the turbo engine will have a decent lead and the prelude wont be able to catch it..
ITR/Prelude
- The Prelude has 30Nm more torque than an ITR
- Prelude's get's beaten by ITR, big factor is the Preludes bulky fat of an extra 300kg
- I couldn't even keep up with booget's VTi-R, let alone a Type-R
Prelude/S15
To sum up:
- S15 has MORE torque than a Prelude
- S15 weighs another 200kg LESS
- S15 is RWD
- S15 will own, assuming that both drivers are equal (as with all races).
I did my VTiR Vs a Spec S GT (looks ugly with big "factory" wing I reckon) yesterday on President Ave @ Miranda.. I win, but S15 had 1 passenger and might have been auto... but I still won (by not a lot, could have been driver related). So yeah, VTiRs are quick, but a totally different car to an S15...
