I was actually thinking of doing the same thing but with a GL shell and convert it to VTi as i can get a VTi for cheap.

But in my case i will have to convert it from carby to efi as well.

Why don't you just go b series?

Also how you planning on upping the compression ratio?? If your gonna get a thinner (or thicker?) gasket then yes you'll need to shave/mill the head and block anyway. Same goes for high comp pistons.

As for increasing redline then it would probably be a good idea to upgrade the head completely. And if you wanna up the CR then you might as well rebuild the whole motor.

But that's gonna cost you a lot of money dude. I'd just stick to upgrading I/H/E and tune it.
