Im surprised Honda doesnt sell a diesel car on this market yet (could easily produce a golf competitor), theyre going to be out of the game in 10yrs as all the lil korean mobs have their models in existence with good r&d supplied
I actually have no idea why they don't, i think t hey have diesels in other countries, just not here.
The main reason for that is that in Europe for instance, petrol and diesel are significantly dearer than here (currently about AUD$2.28 per litre for both, in Britain), and diesel cars are more economical, so a much higher percentage of people buy diesel cars there. The average family car is also significantly smaller there, for the same reason. That's one of the reasons why Americans have such large, fuel guzzling V8 cars and trucks - fuel is much cheaper there than it is here -AUD$0.73 per litre. Try and find a diesel car there - they are much rarer than in Australia.
