HA, yeh i feel so cruel revving the daylights out of my little D16Y4 lol... it barely sees over 4,500 rpm! From a mechanical point of view, I don't want to kill my engine... if only i had a B series... arrr

don't know...i guess it's because i know it's not a Type R engine and i'm worried about doing damage with the extra stresses...

doesnt matter if its a b series or d series both can rev high well any engine can but theres a rev limiter installed to protect any damage done to the engine so nothing to be worried about

i have to admit, on the odd occasion when you do give it the beans, you do realise how much is up high in the rev range; but just don't like to push it everytime i drive it; for everyday driving guess you just need to keep in key torque zone... but hopefully a b series one day

haha even with a b series you would drive it exactly how you would drive a d series. exactly the same only when giving it one is when you'd rev to the red line ;].

Its not like with a d series you would change gears a 3k and with a b series you would change at 4.5 lol its the same pretty much haha

lol, us D-series are alrite, only thing sucks was that driving to Winton race way, i was cruisin constantly at 3.2k, using average 10liters per 100kms.... 110kph zone, didnt know it would drain the fuel tank so fast!

But hey, jus aslong as the motor runs, an gets from point A to B, than its all good..

goes over 7k with ease, havent damaged a thing in mines 3oo,oookms of use they respond well to a beating
(oil gets changed at 5k, with the best full syn in existance, gearbox oil every 40k)

needs some more seals replaced, new clutch from exedy, new flywheel, rear main seal whilst Im there, inspect the oil pump (might just replace it whilst I do the sump gasket)

very very tough, hell the clutch lasted 300,oookm, got hot at the drags, cooled off and works just fine again with the slightest slip lol
I really do love this engine and everything attached to it, just does as it's told with no bs ever lol

manuals have specific oil, just honda manual transmission fluid, does well and is pretty cheap
