    85 crx > zc turbo swap ????

    Hey there
i have a jdm 85 crx (auto 1.5i) and a full turbo kit for d16,
i need some help as too which out of the twin cam d series motors would be best for fittment and availabilty for this build?

Also the suspension setup is very different with tortion bar and gas strut, im not sure which would be the best way to upgrade and who to speak to.

Some advice would be much appriciated.
    =)

    Check out crxaustralia.com, there's a few Gen1 CRX know-alls on there.

Secondly...why do you want to turbo a twin carb? Have you considered just swapping to a EFI DOHC D-series? The Gen1 came out with the browntop after all

www.redpepperracing.com (specialty forum BASED for the first gen crx and third gen civic) > crx aus for this.

I assume you have an EW2, if it were to be fuel injected then it should be an EW4 or EW5 (from memory)

You can fit a d16a1 from a first generation integra into the car with no hassles (just get the car FI) and if you're smart and buy the whole Integra virtually everything fits and will be an upgrade.

    Awsome cheers for the advice
Yeah I am definatley not building the twin carb i'm putting in twin cam D series for the ease of stock fittment + turbo as I'm building a replica mugen super pro turbo I was lucky enough to find a guy in the u.s with complete mugen wide body kits he makes them to order if any one else is keen!?

Sweet a few other guys had said sx16 integra will be ideal so I think that's what I'll get on the hunt for

Easy engine to find. There's like 2-3 at my local wrecker.

Yes, but I have no idea on price. Never got a quote on the engine to be honest. I'm just thinking about Pick-A-Part where you have to take it off yourself lol.

At what point did any of the previous members consider a SOHC VTEC engine? OP stated in first post that he's going twin cam D...

When fitting a D16A - be it an A3 or A8 you will need to modify the engine mount points - especially the Front engine mount. EW motors have a completely different size bracket.
