You shouldnt have any rubbing issues even if your car is quite low. I'm running +30 7.5" front 8.5" rear lowered with no rubbing.

It will not stick out. Maybe close to flush.

oh ok, would i need to get new tyres to fit 17x8.5 rims? im on the stock 17" tyres right now (im pretty sure they're 225/45R17)

225/45/17 is fine for a 8.5" wide wheel, no problems at all. Won't even be an obvious stretch.

Shit yeah! +48 is very conservative offset and 8.5" isnt wide enough to cause you grieve. do it.

would look alright, depends if your going for race look or baller style.
10x114.3 fit 5x114.3? WTF, for example, 18x7.5 (18" by 7.5" wide); 5x114.3 (5 studs x 114.3mm between each stud; aka PCD)

yes +48 is plenty.
i'm running 18x7.5 +40. not as wide though.
