Did you go down again Daniel ??

I missed out - they're closed for winter now.. but will meet you down there when they open back up - while it's still cold :P

I'll be happy if I beat a 'homo' 14.5" LOL.. PB is 14.60" but have less weight and more power since then.. Clutch is wearing and i am still only on street tyres (not semis) so there's a tenth or so there if I can get some rubber...

    Keep me posted

14.1 not 14.5 lol only homo in overall drag times, for 1.6L is good.

Nah I didn't get a chance to get out, I'm on my 3rd gearbox (rebuild) and earlier this year pulled the flywheel out and got it machined up cos clutch was slipping like a mutha from heat warpage, so I sorta chickened out from going in April to save the car for circuit stuff (3rd gear has started to crunch!!!! Looks like rebuild number 4 on the way haha)
I will try to head out once the drags reopen again and its sill cool, but maybe I'll wait till I'm ready to do another gearbox build and then go down just before.
    Will keep posted.

MY say on 1/4 miles drags, people have to reliese that have big power figures won't just get you a good time. number 1 - LSD (Compulsorary) no LSD no time.
2 - gearing is very important, we don't want the revs drop too much, you wanna stay in the vtec power band.
3 - weight, reducing weight will make huge differences.
4 - Flywheel - by reducing the weight of your flywheel(getting it machined) or buying a lightened one will make huge differences. You want your car to rev faster. its a lot easier for a engine to turn over say 8 kg's compared to 12 - 18kg's.
5 - Tires - Getting good tires is very important, there no point having all of the above if you cant put the power to the ground.
6 - Smart mods - Ecu, CAI, Headers, proper exhaust, cams and cam gears, lighter and better valves, springs and other head work.
7 - car is maintaned, new engine and transmission oil, run an engine flush every now and again. make the engine happy and healthy.

all of the above will make a car run some good times. you cant just jump the cue and put an cai and headers on and assume that your going to run 13's
you must focus on other aspects.
and 14.1 is a good time, people don't reliese that this is fast. the VZ clubsport runs 14.3 from factory and thats a car that costs 50k+. 14.1 is impressive in my books.

So if your serious about building a good drag car then take in all of the above.

Yer thats all well and good but LOL, I don't care about drags or building a drag car hahaha
I just go down every couple of years for curiosity sake lol

My car is a Track/circuit car and that is the area that is focused on, not 1/4mile times, thanks for info though
