how does this work then, i got 7 rep points yet only 5quality posts if that makes sense

check how many rep points you have by clicking Settings, and its under "Subscribed Threads with New Posts: (x)" pane.
"Latest Reputation Received (x point(s) total)". the number of rep points you get varies, depending on the number of green block that person has when they rep +1 you.

if i was to rep you, you would only get 2 points. if DLO01 was to rep you, you would get 13 points because: (just count it by hand der..)

100pts = 1xDark box and reps 1 pt
200pts = 1xLight box and reps 2 pts.

oh and outa curiosity do u know who has the most rep points on ozh

You have only made 25 posts in forums that COUNT - such as technical threads etc. All other posts do not count towards your total and cannot be repped. Plus , you have been a member here since april of this year - and have made a thread asking how to become a member. Its not a good outlook for you. 99.9% of other newcomers read the rules and deal with this forum without a hitch. Most become members eventually.

it means a member has given you +1 rep point even though this does not count towards your rep count.
so if its grey, almost always they only have 1 green block/newcomer. these ppl, when they +1 rep you, it doesnt count.

Thing is tho, i rep ppl but it's useless, and i find that if i make a useful post, i get get a few reps from people who can't give any
