The gen1's started in 89 and ended in 95?
I thought its just engine age besides the displacement that decides whether its able to be registered or not, ie even though gen1's went to 96 u can't register an 89 in a 92 model EG for example?
Might be wrong but that's what i thought

Cant you just look on top of the headers? on the engine... where it should stamp what yr it is .. if its 98 you will see a stamp like 9|8 in a circle or somthing??
look on the engine for something like this. as you can see this one has 9|4 meaning its a 1994 engine.. so just have a look at yours and you will know what yr it is

you are wrong. it is about the engine age but because they produced the same engine from 89-95 you are still able to register it to the car. so say the car is a 95 eg, you are able to register a 90 model b16a in it because the engine was produced till 95, but you can't register it to a 96 ek as the engine was discontinued in 95.
