    Cool LED interior lights

    Hi all...

Just thought i'd start a thread, and bring all thoughts experiences and ideas to one place....

Just got my [CL9] Euro '06 Lux... and thinking of "pimpin it out" a little
I've seen a few threads on the 'Accurazine' board about people swapping their interior lights to LEDs, and just wanted to see what people here think/ have done!

Any suggestions as to other minor modifications also welcome... but you may need to spell things out, not all that mechanically savvy!

Would've loved it if the entertainment unit played mp3s... but alas, from what i've read, it's not to be

I love my interior LED's haha.
my previous car (98 Ford Explorer) was covered in them. had the entire rear set up as a light show pretty much.
also had LED: parkers, plate lights, 3 interior dome lights, aircon vent lights, footwells lit, cluster lit, billet grill lit, and down spotlights underneith.
    with a DD dvd player.

    Currently on my Civic,
I have, LED: plate lights, cluster lights, footwell lights, lights up the seatbelt pillar thing, daytime driving lights, and my entire boot lit as well.
You don't have to be all that clued on mechanically.
just know your basic rules of power/current.
get a whole lot of wires and crimp sets from supercheap
hit ebay up for some lights,
then spend your weekend lighting up your car

ALSO: if you're planing on replacing your stock dome lights etc. make sure you get multiple SMD LED's
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-X-T10-25-SM...item27b511bb3c
similar to these. SMD LED are brighter, last longer, and will produce more light, (because there's 25 of them on the one t10 as opposed to single led t10s)

    hope this helps.
good luck with your light mods!

Have a look here. There was a big discussion on it a few years ago, including bulb sizes: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23339

    hi guys,

thanks for the responses thus far...
Aarong, I've had a quick look at your linked thread...

But am a little confused... from reading the other thread i thought the bulbs can just be switched from stock yellow bulbes, but reading what Tylerjames says here makes me think it's not so simple...
As you can tell, not that mechanically minded, and haven't done anything like this before (thought new car, sexy; make it sexier!!!)

And from some of the pictures that i've seen on ebay and here and there... it seems as though the white LEDs actually make the interior much brighter, but read at the linked post that it's not "usable" as normal "yellow" light...

i bought this LED http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....=STRK:MEWNX:IT for the rear map light and these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....=STRK:MEWNX:IT for the front map lights.

I also bought these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....=STRK:MEWNX:IT for the parker and door lights

There are many different ones to look at thought so you don't have to buy these exact ones..they are just the ones i bought at the time (:
