CAD is CAD....and there is coutless programs that can model in 3d and project to 2d and vise versa, pro engineer, autocad, solidworks, etc etc
lol lol lol lol lol
in the engineering office I work in CAD typically refers to autocad. A model usually refers to something done in catia or alias, which is 3D.

i am fairly certain there's copyright / patent issues surrounding any technical diagrams of any Honda Motor Co products... good luck with that one :P

lol..."in the office". In the office alot of things get said, in my office we say this, in my friends office they say that.
Stop being a dingus lol, we both know for fact "CAD" doesn't mean autocad and is reffered to by everybody as that. Anyway, I think autocad is a piece of shit, most engineers I know agree. I don't know if you guys are civil related but for mechanical stuff its terrible! Maybe that's why I can't stand you saying its the standard .

I hope not, I started drawing up my DC2 like a month ago

Thats just the front view I done a long time ago, I have done the side and rear view, all done to 1:1 scale.
However I did plan to draw up the engine aswell, but I estiamated that it will take me at least a months work. So like "hisoka" said, people won't give this out for free.

lol you mean cad as in the abreviated term of auto cad. not everyone uses it like that as the other guy said.
most people just say cad , meaning anything drawn up on computer.

drawing them is fine - that's like creating "art" but if you then on-sell the drawings THAT could present a copyright issue.
I am talking in reference to the original thread querey seeking 'technical drawings'... THOSE are definately copyright and patented and would need to be licensed from Honda for any reproduction.

autodesk autocad - the program allows modeling in 2d and 3d environment - but for the purpose of this excersice i would recommend using either autodesk Inventor or Solidworks
i think you should be able to ge a good running 3d model from a 2d set of prints with either of these programs ... but setting up a flow test would be alot more tricky
i can help out with the 3d models in Inventor if you need ... juss send me the 2d plans and ill build the models for you
DC2-PWR - for what you are doing - you would be better of ussing a program like Autodesk Alias

CAD - Computer Aided Design. Just so I can join the band wagon and repeat.
