There are a fair few cars going in that day, he said they are starting at 9am and going all day... Looks like the car could be relegated to track duty only for a bit...

My SRS light is consistently on which could work against me as well... engine number is my achilles heel...

dude, i feel for u hard......
i've had mates get fuked up there hard.....
but call me if u want and i'll try best with some pointers in getting away with it....
they will basically turn the car upside down and inside out to find anything they can.........
example, my mates r32 skyline......we spent 3 days making all back to dead stock, there nuthing to pick on it..........in the end they fuked him for having the parcel shelf (metal section) slightly trimmed to fit the speakers...(structually damaging the car) so they cancelled the rego untill he got it all fixed....
    pm sent....

Hey guys thanks for all your affoers for help and advice much appreciated. But to be honest I am throwing in the towel and canceling my rego myself. Car will become track only so won't be completely gone, just not on the streets anymore. This day was always going to come eventually, I had a pretty good run driving it daily in this state for almost two years without hassels.

I will never drive in williamstown again btw.......

Like I said, I can't get out of it when it comes to engine number and not being engineered/registered to the car. And like you said IEVAQ8, they will not give me any chances and will go through everything, remember I have drilled holes in the floor of the car for things like harness mounts, battery in the boot was done by me, more holes drilled there. I'm running ITB's which I really don't think the EPA will like to much, even if i do box them up, which I can but I don't think it will make much difference.

I can conceal the ECU because it looks like stock anyway, coil-overs could be a problem no doubt, i have the seats and all interior trim so interior prob isn't a problem. SRS light, i can just remove the globe so thats not a problem. Seeing as how thorough they will be I really can't see them letting me go.

Gameover for me, for now anyway. Also gives me an excuse to take my civic even further in regards to track work still dissapointing, i just got it looking just as I had wanted it, lowered to its lowest point and poked out wheels that didn't scrub at all. Just means now, i have to go through the pain of getting permits to move the bastard around....

Thanks again for the help guys

its a such a shame that it had to end like this, ur car was by far one of the best looking one in the country, i agree Williams town ruined it for you man, as every other meet was fine, but i guess like u said, gives u more of a reason to do outrageous mods to it, maybe rear diffuser an welded in roll cage?
The beast shall be lost on the roads but not forgotten, whats gonna b ur new daily?

    Thanks for the comments mate

We'll see how much further i take it. i have a few surprises in the garage that need to be installed still and a cage isn't out of the question but hard to justify spending money on it now. we'll see what happens. I have said similar things befor and then done the complete opposite.

New daily will be my parents 80 series cruiser for a while untill i can afford a decent daily. Or possibly i might drive my mates VR manual v6 wagon :/ we'll see.

Thought it i'd let ya know that i just found out Atjo with the air-bagged white honda odyssey has suffered the same fate as me. He was seen driving in point cook and received the same letter, to be looked over at williamstown this sat........ no one is safe it seems :/

haha no pic needed, simply seen driving on the road. they thought it looked un-roadworthy and wrote my plates down and sent the letter. I technically have not been defected yet, i just have to report to the station to be looked over by the EPA/VIC roads and the police.

fk that, sounds stupid in my mind, so, based on some wanker, you have to take time off of work (assuming youre a contractor, losing out on a days wage) to go to some shite arse inspection station

I'd send them a letter back saying I dont have the time to leave work as Im working on a project over the next 6 months which needs my attention, attached with a boss's note, etc

not even that, just word of mouth, a punch in the computer data system, an ur booked into a session lol, its all down to the discretion of the police officer on duty, if he thinks ur car is in a unroad worthy state, thats it, no need to explain as to why he booked u in.....
